At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, BYD revealed the Great Tang, a flagship three-row electric SUV that pushes the brand further into the premium segment. With up to 950 km of range, advanced in-cabin technology, and luxury-focused design, the Great Tang signals BYD’s ambition to compete with global high-end EV SUVs on both performance and comfort.
At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, BYD once again positioned itself at the center of China’s rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape with the official showcase of its flagship SUV—the BYD Great Tang. As one of the most significant unveilings of the event, the model represents BYD’s push into large, luxury-oriented electric SUVs that combine extreme range, advanced technology, and bold design. The Great Tang sits at the top of BYD’s Dynasty series, expanding the Tang nameplate into a more premium full-size SUV segment. It features the latest “Dragon Face” design language, with sharp LED lighting, a full-width rear light bar, and aerodynamic sculpting aimed at improving efficiency while maintaining strong road presence. Measuring over 5.3 meters in length, it offers a three-row layout designed for family and executive use, with a strong emphasis on space, comfort, and long-distance usability. Inside, the Great Tang adopts BYD’s latest digital-first cabin approach. The interior is centered around a multi-screen layout that integrates a digital driver display, a central infotainment screen, and a passenger display. Higher trims further enhance the experience with rear entertainment screens, foldable tables, ambient lighting, and luxury features such as a built-in refrigerator, creating a premium, tech-focused cabin environment. Built on BYD’s latest electric platform and Blade Battery technology, the Great Tang is offered in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. It delivers a driving range of up to approximately 950 km under CLTC conditions, placing it among the longest-range electric SUVs in its class. Performance variants are capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in around 3.9 seconds, supported by a large battery pack exceeding 130 kWh in higher specifications. The Great Tang is positioned as BYD’s flagship luxury electric SUV, targeting buyers who want a combination of long-range capability, advanced technology, and premium comfort in a full-size three-row package. At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, it served as a clear statement of BYD’s growing ambition to compete directly with global luxury EV manufacturers, marking a shift from mass-market dominance toward high-end automotive leadership.
